You thought by now you’d have it... that thing you’ve been praying for.
You thought by now life would be different.
But here you are, throwing up the same requests to God, wondering why He hasn’t answered.
He seems to be answering other people’s prayers but somehow skipping right past yours.
Don’t you care, God?
Don’t you see how bad I want this?
It’s easy to get filled with disappointment, discouragement and perhaps even bitterness.
I get it. Waiting is freaking hard.
Do you know, though, that God does answer every single one of our prayers?
It might be a “yes”, and a quick, “here you go child.”
But it might also be a “not right now” because there are other things that need to align in His perfect timing and in His will before that does.
(Including perhaps, our heart posture.. because sometimes that’s what needs to change rather than our circumstances.)
And sometimes... ugh, sometimes the answer is “no”. And it hurts.
But with God, there really is another part to that “no”.
It’s not just a “no, I don’t want you to be happy”.
It’s a “no, I have something else for you, and it will draw you closer to me.”
His “no” brings us to the “yes” we were always meant to get to.
I don’t know how He is going to answer your prayer, friend.
But I do know that He knows best.
I do know He sees you.
(Oh gosh, how He sees every little part of you and adores you.)
He sees you waiting.
He will answer, one way or the other.
It may not be exactly what you had in mind, but it will be better because it’s God’s plan.
Had I gotten everything I prayed for when I was younger, I would have missed out on so much of the goodness and closeness of God I have experienced.
Sometimes it's His "no's" that lead to our greatest transformations.
But remember, friend... Sometimes His "no's" will ultimately turn into a "yes", a "yes" even better than you imagined.
