Hanging on by a thread.
I’ve heard many people describe this as the state they’re in lately.
Just barely getting by right now.
Grasping for some hope to hold on to.
Only a thread is keeping them attached.
It’s hard because I know we shouldn’t settle for a life where we are just surviving and trying to get by.
I know we were made for more than that.
But the truth is, some seasons of life are just harder than others.
And so maybe all we really have is just a thread to hang on to.
But I’ve learned that what the thread is makes all the difference.
If you thread is your finances, or your material objects, even your relationships, or really anything of this world, it’s bound to snap under your weight.
But friend, if the thread you’re hanging on to is Jesus, that’s all you need.
He is the thread of hope.
Of peace.
Of love.
Of life.
He’s the thread that never breaks under us.
He’s also going to be holding on to you, too.
I pray that you will not feel hopeless today.
That you will know the thread of your King will sustain you through even the most difficult times.
There will come a day when you don’t feel like you are just surviving.
And you’ll be able to look back and see how holding on to Jesus got you through the hardest of times.
Keep holding on.
He will too.
For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13
