We all have and hold dreams in our heart.
We all have some expectations for how life should go.
But sometimes life just doesn’t go as planned, and we find ourselves in a place we never thought we’d be.
We grieve the marriage and family we wanted.
We grieve the career we thought we’d have by now.
We grieve the health issues that have taken so much from us.
We grieve the losses and hardships we never thought we’d encounter.
The curve balls of life hit us hard, and we weren’t expecting it.
Friend, I hope you know it’s okay to grieve the dreams that never came to fruition.
(At least not yet.)
It’s okay to be sad that life isn’t what you thought it would be at this point.
Sometimes we need to grieve things that were only ours in our dreams.
But I hope you won’t stop there.
I hope you’ll look around at life right now and seek the beauty in what’s around you, too.
Because we can still see beauty in grief.
I hope you’ll notice the little things that still spark life into your soul.
I hope you’ll feel the love that is in your life and let it radiate through your bones.
And you know what else?
I hope you’ll leave room for God to place new dreams on your heart.
Because whether or not you see it, He still has a good plan for you.
He didn’t make you to be disappointed forever.
He wants to plant seeds in your heart that can grow into hope and purpose.
This can start right now, today.
By looking around and finding the beauty even in the ashes.
Because it’s there that new dreams are planted.
A new sense of hope.
A new sense of purpose and fulfillment.
A new perspective altogether.
Let Him show you that your plan is far from over.
Life may not be what you wanted it to be, but there is still beauty and purpose in it.
