Somehow you made it here.
You made it through the muck and mire, and beyond what anyone expected.
Beyond even what you expected.
You broke the chain.
Maybe you aren’t like the parents you had.
Maybe your life isn’t consumed by the addictions many in your lineage struggle with.
Maybe you broke the generational habits that felt unbreakable.
You took a different path than the one that would have been so natural to take.
You decided you wanted a different life.
It wasn’t easy, but you did it by the grace of God.. and hard work.
You beat the odds. You’re still beating them.
Of course life isn’t perfect, but you’ve come so much further than what was expected.
But you know what?
God knew all along.
He knew you had a different path.
He saw you and your ambition and knew you’d make it out.
And you listened to Him... instead of the world. Instead of what everyone else was saying.
You, friend, are an example of what happens when someone doesn’t place their future in the expectation of others but instead in God’s plans.
Not only have you changed the trajectory of your life.. but you changed all the generations to come.
Your children will see and learn something different.
The people around you will be impacted by you in a way they wouldn’t have otherwise.
I know it’s easy to forget how far you’ve come and just look at the obstacles in front of you, and the hardships you are encountering now.
But don’t forget where you’ve been.
Don’t forget where you very easily could be.
And where God has brought you out of.
Because that’s your testimony.
And that’s one that many, many people need to hear.
In case no one has told you, I’m proud of you for what you’ve done and how you’ve allowed God to move in your life.
God is proud, too.
