I love Christmas. Like, a lot.
There is just something about the cool air, the twinkley lights, and the Christmas music.. oh, I just love it.
But there is much more to Christmas than the aesthetics that makes it so comforting.
Christmas reminds me that there was once a “pre-Jesus” life for people.
There were many humans who had to live on earth without knowing about their Savior.
Without knowing about the light of the world.
Because He hadn‘t yet come.
But not us.
We know that the most mysterious, and very best thing that’s ever happened to humanity is when a baby was born in Bethlehem.
Clearly, things are pretty rough right now in our country, and in our world.
There is so much fear and pain. So much division and anger.
It’s really difficult to find and feel the peace and joy the Christmas songs sing about.
That’s why I think we need it. That’s why I think we need Christmas.
Not Christmas the holiday that’s been hijacked by consumerism and worldly thing.
But CHRISTmas, where we remember and celebrate that we have a God who came to save the world from all of this.
A God called Emmanuel, meaning “God with us.” A man who walked with us, and also paved a way to eternity for us.
We need Christmas today.
We need Christ.
When the weight of the world sits on your shoulders, think of that little baby who was born in a manger.
And how He ended up dying for us so that the weight of this world wouldn’t be how our story ends.
Christmas reminds me that this life is about Jesus. He is everything.
We need Christmas and the reminders that come with it..
Every single day.
