There have been times when I’ve met someone and knew in that moment they would be someone important in my life.
I knew that God had His hand in our meeting. I knew He crossed our paths for reasons that were far beyond just one small conversation.
There was just this feeling in my gut. Like I already knew them, and it was just “supposed to be”.
I’ve heard other people share similar experiences.
Whether or not they knew they needed this person, God put someone in their life at the right time.
It was as if God set up a divine appointment for their meeting, and smiled as He watched two of HIs children come together.
Perhaps it’s a brand new friend who walks into your life out of nowhere, and for the first time in a long time you feel understood.
Or a significant other who treats you better than you’ve ever been treated.
Or maybe it was a random stranger who helped you get through something or showed unusual kindness.
Or a medical professional, counselor, or pastor who walked with you through some really hard stuff.
Or a child that changed your whole world.
Regardless, someone walked into your life and they instantly became an important part of your story.
That’s the thing about God…
He loves our love for one another. He wants us to get to experience the friendship, companionship, comfort and joy that He has designed each of us for.
He loves how His children love each other, because it’s His love that moves through each of us.
God blesses us all the time.
But sometimes those blessing come in the form of a person.
Which I happen to believe are the greatest blessings we will experience in this life.
(In fact, our greatest blessing came in the form of a person- Jesus)
It’s easy to take for granted these people, but we shouldn’t. We should remember that the love we experience from them (and vice versa) is a little glimpse of God’s love for us.
Sometimes God blesses us with a change of heart.
Sometimes He blesses us by changing our circumstances.
Sometimes He blesses us simply by revealing Himself to us.
Sometimes He does all these things through one of His other children, too.
Don't ever overlook how God has put a person in your life to help you see more of Him.
And don't ever overlook how He might use you to do the same thing for someone else.
We are all connected, and He moves through each of us.
It's no surprise then that our greatest blessing comes in the form of a person.
God intended it to be that way.
