When it Rains, it Pours. But Faith is an Umbrella.

Why does it seem like when one thing bad happens, a whole bunch of other bad things happen, too?

Why is it that life can be going fine, then boom, it feels like our world is falling down around us?

They say, “when it rains, it pours.

And that seriously seems to be the case sometimes.

A job loss.

Death or grief of a loved one.

An unexpected divorce.

A scary diagnosis.

Financial instability.

A friendship ending.

A car accident.

Mental health issues.

Etc.

One of these things on their own is incredibly difficult.

But when it’s multiple hardships all at once?

It can make us feel like we are being crushed, and the world around us is crumbling.

It can create so much anxiety because we recognize we can’t control everything.

It certainly can make us wonder why God would allow so much bad to happen.

“When it rains, it pours.”

And sometimes we find ourselves standing in the storm, feeling so alone and helpless.

But our feelings aren’t the truth about God.

Because in the storm.. God is there.

He gets drenched in rain, too.

God doesn’t say that there won’t be storms or that He will quickly make them pass.

But He does say He won’t leave us in them alone.

He does say that we can find peace in Him in all circumstances, including the storm.

God is our protector in the downpour.

He is our refuge from the storm. He is our hiding place.

The storm might keep coming down, but we will not be taken over by it.

I know it doesn’t seem fair. And I don’t know why God allows for so much pain to happen.

But I do know we can cling to our faith like an umbrella.

Even though we can’t avoid the rain, we will have something to hold on to that will help us keep standing.

Faith helps us see a little more clearly as we look at our stormy circumstances.

The rain will come. At times it will pour.

We can’t stop it, it’s inevitable.

So make sure you are equipped for the storm.

Don’t walk into the rain without your umbrella.

Even when it rains, unexpected situations like vehicle breakdowns and chances of accidents can add to the stress of travel. That's why having access to 24 hour tow trucks is so important—it’s like an umbrella that helps you stay protected and covered no matter the weather.
